Supporting 10G GPON Upstream Transmission
- 10G gigabit-capable passive optical network (GPON), a next-generation PON standard defined by International Telecommunication Union - Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), supports the upstream transmission rate 2.5 Gbit/s and downstream transmission rate 10 Gbit/s, which can meet users' requirements for high bandwidth services.
- 10G GPON networks can coexist with the current PON networks to fully use the existing optical distribution network (ODN) resources.
Vectoring Broadband Service Speedup
The MA5616 supports the vectoring function to expand VDSL2 bandwidth for VDSL2 line acceleration.Using VDSL2, users can access networks at a high speed and use diversified services, for example, HD videos, to obtain better user experience.
Flexible Configurations

Combo Boards and P2P Board
The MA5616 has a combo board design for supporting high-density user access requirements.Combo boards reduce carriers' construction expenditure, deployment space, wire setting workload, occupation of the main distribution frame (MDF), and maintenance costs.
The P2P board design meets P2P access requirements for enterprise users and VIP users.
Operational Video Service
The MA5616 uses Internet Group Management Protocol version 2 (IGMPv2) or IGMPv3 to provide IPTV, HDTV, and video conferencing services.
IPv6
