1.Product Overview

TN97RPC is an extended C-band reverse Raman processing board designed for OptiX OSN9800 series wavelength division devices.It belongs to the RPC series Raman processing unit and uses distributed Raman amplification technology to focus on low-noise, broad-spectrum signal amplification of ultra long distance DWDM links.It is suitable for backbone ultra long distance, cross ocean/cross regional DWDM optical layer relay scenarios and deployed in a single slot.It is a key optical layer board component for ultra long distance transmission networks exceeding 100G.

Basic specifications and physical characteristics

TN97RPC adopts a standard single slot board structure, with physical dimensions of 261.5mm, 202.6mm, and 22.0mm, and a weight not exceeding 0.9kg. The power supply uses 48V DC, with a voltage range of 38.4V to 57.6V, a typical power consumption of 65W, and a maximum power consumption of 75W. The standard operating temperature range is 0 ? to 45 ? , the extended range is 5 ? to 55 ? , the storage temperature is -40 ? to 70 ? , the relative humidity is 5% to 95%, and there is no condensation. The MTBF is not less than 120000 hours, and it has passed CE FCC RoHS certification, meeting the requirements of high reliability and environmental protection of telecommunications grade. The panel is equipped with six types of indicator lights: STAT, ACT, ROG, SRV, FCD, and LAS, which are used to monitor hardware status, business activation, software loading, alarms, fiber optic connection diagnosis, and pump laser switch status. The laser safety level is HAZARD LEVEL 1, and the panel is equipped with an interlock switch. When inserting or removing fibers, the automatic control board card will power off to ensure operational safety.

Two core functions and Raman amplification capability

TN97RPC integrated Raman optical amplification unit supports full band signal amplification from 1528.8nm to 1567.6nm in the extended C-band, compatible with 50GHz interval DWDM 96 wave and Super C-band 120 wave networking. By using reverse distributed Raman amplification technology, multiple high-power pump lights are generated to achieve distributed online signal amplification in the transmission fiber. Compared with EDFA, it has lower noise figure, wider amplification bandwidth, and higher dispersion tolerance, which can significantly improve the ultra long distance transmission distance and system sensitivity. Support pump power locking mode to ensure amplification stability and adapt to complex link environments. Equipped with online optical performance monitoring function, providing an independent MON monitoring port, which can be connected to a spectral analyzer to monitor the spectrum and optical performance of the composite signal in real time, without affecting business transmission. Support real-time detection and reporting of pump laser power, pump current, board temperature, and return loss. In case of abnormalities, an alarm will be triggered and the pump source will be automatically turned off. When the reflected light power exceeds 15dBm, laser shutdown protection will be immediately executed to ensure the safety of the link and equipment. Support FCD fiber optic connection diagnosis function, triggered by the FCD button on the panel, the flashing frequency and status of the indicator light can intuitively reflect the quality and fault points of the fiber optic connection. Support hybrid networking with EDU, OBU and other EDFA cards to build a Raman+EDFA hybrid amplification system, further improving the performance of ultra long distance transmission.

Three light interface parameters

TN97RPC is equipped with LINE main optical interface and MON monitoring port, both of which use LC duplex connectors and support reverse pump signal transmission.The input optical power range of the main optical interface is -35dBm to -10dBm, suitable for ultra long distance weak light signal input scenarios.The pump laser adopts a multi wavelength high-power pump architecture, and the output pump light power meets the requirements of distributed Raman amplification.The typical noise figure is ≤ 4.0dB, which is much lower than traditional EDFA and greatly improves the sensitivity of weak light signal reception.The dispersion tolerance is not less than 20000ps/nm, suitable for ultra long distance transmission scenarios of standard single-mode fibers over 1000km.

Compatibility and deployment requirements for four versions

TN97RPC is compatible with OSN9800/8800 system V100R010C00 and above versions, and is compatible with TN52UXCM, TN52XCH, and TN16UXCM main control boards.Support deployment in OSN9800 UPS, U64, U32 subracks and OSN8800 T64, T32 subracks, single slot installation, no additional space occupation required.When deployed, it is mainly used as a reverse Raman amplification board, combined with FIU, D40, M40, OAU and other wavelength division boards to build ultra long haul DWDM optical layer systems.It is usually deployed at the link receiving end and used in conjunction with the forward Raman board or EDFA at the transmitting end.Support mixed networking with Raman processing boards of the same series as TN51RPC and TN97ERPC, for smooth upgrade and expansion.

TN97RPC is mainly applied in three major scenarios: firstly, reverse Raman amplification of backbone ultra long distance DWDM links, which extends the transmission distance of a single span to over 1000km, significantly reducing the number of relay stations and lowering network construction and operation costs; The second is cross ocean/cross regional DWDM optical layer relay, which achieves transparent amplification and transmission of ultra long distance optical signals, ensuring stable transmission of 100G/200G/400G high-speed services; The third is the low-noise amplification of complex terrain DWDM networks, which compensates for high loss and high dispersion link signal attenuation, improves system transmission quality and reliability, and adapts to harsh transmission environments such as deserts and mountainous areas.
